Hardy Fowler is from New Orleans in the USA and works as a medical illustrator, but he is obsessed with fantasy and science fiction which means his spare time is allocated to unleashing that obsession. And that means freelancing as an illustrator and concept artist for movies, video games, posters, desktop wallpapers and wherever else he can exorcise his love for speculative fiction.
In his own words: ‘In my work, I always try to tell a dramatic story. I like to keep the values contrasted and moody, the colors contextual and arresting, and my subjects are always designed to inspire that elusive “wonderfully weird.”‘
Below is a small sampling of his work. Each image links back to the artist’s gallery. Enjoy!
I love his Warhammer work, but I think his talent shows a lot stronger in his personal projects. Or maybe it’s just the tonal atmosphere that attracts me. Ah, but it doesn’t matter. I think we can all agree Hardy’s work is awesome.
Let me know your thoughts.
Cheers!
