Art of Science Fiction 093: Aleksandr Plihta

Aleksandr Plihta is a very talented 2D/3D artist from Kiev in the Ukraine. His science fiction art is more of the Dead Space and Event Horizon morbid variety. Background information on this artist is limited. As is usual, when we don’t have a lot of information about the artist we’re featuring, we’ll just let the art do the talking.

Below is a small collection of Aleksandr’s awesome work. Enjoy!

There is a clinical aspect to Aleksandr’s work. I suppose that is what concept design does, after all, but with the subject matter being mostly cybernetic and human physiology, the tonal effect is one of exploration and study, like what you would’ve found in a scientist’s or engineer’s notebook in the previous century. Or, rather, that is my initial reaction. Others’ experiences may vary. If you would like to see more of the Aleksandr’s work, click here.

And that is all from me for this week.

Woelf Dietrich

Woelf Dietrich mostly writes tales of dark fantasy and the supernatural, which is maybe not such a far cry from his lawyering days. Sometimes he writes other things. He resides in New Zealand with his wife and kids and a dog.
