Canadian Ryan Love has been active in the video game industry for over a decade. He is a multi-faceted, multi-disciplined artist specializing in Environment Modeling, Environment Design, Digital Sculpting, Digital Painting, Prop Modeling, Texturing, and Character Design, and probably a host of other super skills.
He currently works as a Senior Artist for Bioware, a video game developer that became famous for launching highly praised and successful licensed franchises, Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Ryan himself has contributed his talent to a number of games, from Mass Effect 3 to The Incredible Hulk to Dragon Age Inquisition.
Below is a selection of his work that stood out for me. Enjoy!
Ryan talks more about his process and inspirations in this interview. In his own words:
“…expose yourself to a variety of experiences, it’s important to step away from the computer and build your visual library by experiencing things. Nature is one of our best resource for inspiration. I’m continually inspired and amazed by nature, space, technology and scientific advancements. Never stop practicing and learning!”
Always keep moving forward, and always keep improving but don’t forget to take stock every now and again.
Cheers!
