Dmitriy Kuzin is a digital artist from Tashkent, Uzbekistan and he paints off-world landscapes like a nature photographer captures scenery. His scenes are snapshots of life in the future. He gives us alien planets with desolate landscapes and various moons and neighboring planets, and he gives us Earth, but an unrecognizable Earth many years from now.

Dmitriy captures the brilliance of first light and the fading orange of twilight, imbuing his paintings with a tone and ambiance so very unique, they resonate deeply with that part of you that dream of exploring deep space and far off worlds.

Feast your eyes. Below is a small collection from Dmitriy’s portfolio. Each image links back to the site of origin. Enjoy.

I chose Dmitriy’s work this week because his art reminds me of the inlari universe. How these horned aliens had crisscrossed our galaxy in search of habitable planets while fleeing a great and ancient evil, and how even Earth fell victim and became almost uninhabitable as a consequence.

Dmitriy’s paintings capture the solitude and loneliness of space and of worlds where only pockets of life exist and the skeletal remains of once great machines disappear under the sands of time. He paints worlds where desolation is a living thing that grows larger with time and bears down on the few that still remain, and that right there begs for speculation in narrative form.

Cheers!
