Martin Parker is an Illustrator and concept artist from West Yorkshire, UK. He finds inspiration from books and movies, and from outliers in futuristic design like Syd Mead and John Berkey. Martin’s tools of choice include Freehand Drawing and Adobe Photoshop.
Below is a small collection of art from the artist. Each image links back to the site of origin. Enjoy!
Whether intentional or not, I see John Harris‘ influence in Martin’s art. His style could best be described as using a traditional approach with futurism as subject matter. I suspect imaginative realism is aptly applicable here. Martin’s paintings are atmospheric, enhanced by a hazy lens and gritty texture and vivid colors.
If I knew anything about fine art, I would have taken the leap to suggest that Martin’s work possess elements similar to that of the old impressionist painters. But I’m a barbarian and uneducated and these are digital paintings, so I won’t suggest that. What I do know is that I admire his work and his talent.
Let me know if you agree.
Cheers!
