Simon Fetscher is from Malmö, Sweden and currently works as a concept artist for the Danish creative studio, Mood. He is also a freelancer and has worked on a number of indie game titles and short films.
According to Simon he is a self-taught artist, and yeah, you wouldn’t say that if you look at his work. His paintings are amazing. They are perfectly composed with fully realised settings, appropriate ambiences, inducing just enough awe to cause your thoughts to smile and drift towards the “What if” zone. Simon says he is passionate about science fiction and there is no mistaking that fact. It reverberates throughout all his paintings.
Below is a sampling of this artist’s portfolio. Each image links back to the site of origin. Enjoy!
Space stations, future cities, alien worlds, and the tech in between flawlessly rendered and visualised. The futures depicted in Simon’s paintings seem so plausible like it could happen tomorrow and that adds a sense of excitement to his work that is infectious. Infectious, that is, if you love science fiction, or at the very least, have a passing interest in interstellar exploration.
