Art of Science Fiction 033: Nuttavut Baiphowongse

Today we’re focussing on weird and exotic alien creatures. Nuttavut Baiphowongse is a freelance creature designer and senior 3D artist from Bangkok, Thailand and his creature designs are amazing and just a little freaky. So naturally he has worked on some big name projects like the Falling Skies TV Series, Jupiter Ascending, Maleficent, Noah, 300: Rise of an Empire, Ninja Turtles, and many more, and given his immense talent it does not surprise me.

Below is a small sampling of the artist’s work. Each image links back to the gallery of origin. Enjoy!

THEEYE

I love these designs. The creatures in the last image look more like spawns from Hell, never mind some unexplored galaxy. But then, we don’t know all that much about deep space or those distant galaxies. I mean, we must have gotten our ideas from somewhere, right?

As usual, let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Cheers!
