Lina Karpova is a concept artist and illustrator from Russia. She works in the video game industry and enjoys an impressive list of clients and has worked on many projects, including Armored Warfare (Obsidian); Warface (Cryrek); World of Speed (Slightly Mad Studios); Archeage (XL Games); Strife (S2 Games), and Dragon Nest (Eyedenity Games) to name but a few.
Lina is also a teacher at the Scream School in Moscow where she teaches matte painting techniques. Lina’s passion, however, is creating highly-detailed, weird landscapes as can be seen from some of the paintings here, and she is rightly successful at it because they are stunning.
Below is a sampling of her work. Each image links back to the artist’s gallery. Enjoy!
Lina’s paintings are detailed and ornate in execution and her vibrant and electric composition draws you in. For instance, the color and texture in some of her paintings remind me of melted shards of colored glass.
I look forward to seeing more paintings from this wonderful and talented artist. Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
Take care.
